Wild animal tee shirts

I am learning to sketch a wild animal and transfer my drawing to a tee shirt.  I used special fabric markers to colour in my design.

Patterns to 5

I am learning to make and recognise patterns to 5.

" I can make a pattern to 5.  I know 2+3 =5" said Zahra

Reading out loud

We are learning to read familiar poems out loud. We are trying to read with fluency and expression. As we get more confident, we can pay attention to the author's punctuation to help our reading sound more interesting.

"I can sound out words I don't know when I read out loud. I can read loudly so everyone can hear" said Zahra

Wonderful writing

At writing time we are learning to write all the sounds we can hear in words. This means we listen for the beginning , middle and end sounds.

"I am big and I write good now."

First and last sounds

I am able to look at the first and last sounds in words to help me work out new words. Here I am looking at a picture and writing the sounds.

Rocket ship

We have been learning about the solar system this term.  We made a rocket with paper and a straw then blew through the straw to see how far our rocket would travel.  

Measuring Challenges

We were learning to compare similar objects that differ only in length.

 We were experimenting with learning to measure with non-standard units. 

We were learning to have an accurate starting and finishing point when we measured and use measuring language. 

"I can measure the book. I have to remember put the pen at the top and move it again."'

Phonics Time

Phonics lessons are a very important part of our Writing programme. In this photo I am learning to hear and record the middle sound in words. When I recognise the pattern, I can write lots of words.

" I am learning to read and write words. Mummy and dad help me at home."

Maths Fun

Owl Babies

We are learning to publish our writing for an audience, because we are authors. In           Room 3 we try to present our work in many different and interesting ways to                                   encourage people to come and read our fabulous stories!

My Dad

My Dad came to school at night to learn about how to help me with my reading and writing. All the parents tried lots of different fun games. I can do learning at home with my family.
